The information passed around has varied over time of the seven wonders of the ancient world, but now it has finally been settled. Everyone has heard of at least one in their life, and include the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Temple of Artemis, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, and the most talked about of them all — the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Two of the Famous 7 Wonders

Two of the first wonders are popular, and their locations are well known by everyone – the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Colossus of Rhodes. Both the sites are evident from the names of the structures – Giza, Egypt, and Rhodes, Greece. Both have plenty of visual representations, but only the Pyramid can still be seen in real life today!

Just as Beautiful but Gone

The Lighthouse of Alexandra and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus – the beautiful ancient monuments, part of the seven wonders, located in Egypt and Turkey are both, sadly, gone, but still very much talked about today. They were magnificent, and countless people across the globe are sad they cannot see them in their real-life form. That would certainly be an outstanding sight.

The Last With a Known Location

One of the last two wonders with a known location is the Temple of Artemis, which was located in Ephesus, now part of western Turkey. The other, just as breathtaking, is the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, a gorgeous seated statue honoring Zeus in Greece. Both wonders would have been a sight to see, but today only remnants of the great ancient world are left.

The Most Mysterious Wonder

The seven wonder with the most mystery surrounding its existence and location is the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. There are countless Greek and Roman accounts of this ancient wonder. However, they’re all second-hand. Since there were never any firsthand accounts of the location, no one could define where it was. It was said to have been a beautiful present for a wife missing her roots, but unfortunately, we might never know where this beauty lies — skeptics call it a ‘historical mirage.’
